Best Time To Visit

Spring (May - June) : During this time the landscapes are lushgreen and full of wild flowers. This is the great time for sightseeing in cities like Dushanbe. 

Summer ( July - August) : This is the best time for adventure traveller for hiking and trekking. During this time the Pamir Mountains and Fann Mountains are most accessible.

Autumn (September - October) : This is the harvest season in Tajikistan which brings colourful scenery and local festivals. At this time weather remains pleasent with cooler temperature.


Main Festivals

1. Navruz (Nowruz) :

Significance : This festival is the beginning of Persian new year and also it marks the arrival of spring and renewal of life. During this festival people clean their homes, wear new cloths and prepare special dish like Sumalak with enjoying music, dance and sports such as BuzKashi (Goat Polo).


2. Independence Day (September 9) :

Significance : This is the Independence day festival of Tajikistan from Soviet Union. During this day people parades are take places, fireworks, cultural performances and speeches across the country.


3. Eid al-Fitr (Ramazan Bayram) :

Significance : This festival is celebrated at the end of Ramazan. During these festival family gather for prayers, share meal and give charity called Zakat and visit relatives and friends.


4. Eid al-Adha (Kurban Bayram) :

Significance : This festival is also called as the festival of sacrifice as the commetmorates Prophet Ibrahim's devotion. In this festival animals are sacrified and meat is distributed to the family, neighbours and poor peoples.
